Dawn Barker
Dawn has had the privilege of being a part of RiverWoods at Exeter, a continuing care retirement community located in Exeter, NH for the last 16 years. As Vice President of Human Resources, she is responsible for the strategic human resource planning to provide the company with the best talent to meet the RiverWoods’ mission. RiverWoods has been recognized as a “Best Companies to Work for in NH” and has also been recognized for their innovative Wellness programs. Prior to RiverWoods, Dawn’s experience was in recruiting and general Human Resource practice. She holds a Master’s in Organizational Leadership from Southern New Hampshire University and a BA in Marketing from Bentley University. She has her Senior Professional in Human Resources credentialing from The Society of Human Resource Management. Dawn currently serves on the board of The Seacoast Human Resource Association. She has lived in New Hampshire for the majority of her life and never plans to leave. She shares her life with her husband and two daughters. She loves to learn new things, read, cook and spend time outside with her family.
Thomas Closson
Tom is a Shareholder in the Portsmouth, New Hampshire office of Jackson Lewis P.C.
Tom has been practicing labor and employment law since his admission to the New Hampshire Bar in 1993. Prior to joining Jackson Lewis, he was a founder and partner in Flygare, Schwarz & Closson, PLLC, a highly regarded firm specializing in labor and employment law.
Tom has extensive trial experience. During his career, he has successfully represented numerous clients before New Hampshire Courts and juries. He was lead trial counsel in one of the New Hampshire Superior Court’s most high profile cases, representing the “donor towns” in their challenge to the constitutionality of the Statewide Property Tax.
Tom is also an experienced appellate litigator. He has argued, and won, significant cases before the New Hampshire Supreme Court.
Tom has been recognized by the publication The Best Lawyers in America in each of the past two Years as its Lawyer of the Year for litigation, labor and employment law in Manchester, New Hampshire region. Since 2005, Tom has also annually been recognized by Chambers USA Legal Guide as one of the top labor and employment attorneys in New Hampshire. Tom has also been recognized by New England Super Lawyers for employment and labor law, and he has been awarded a Martindale-Hubbell® Peer Review Rating of AV® Preeminent™.
Tom received his B.A., summa cum laude, from the University of New Hampshire in 1990, where he was admitted to Phi Beta Kappa. He received his J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1993.
