Membership, Programs, and Communications Manager
About the Role
Seacoast Village Project is a vibrant, supportive community of over 200 adults aged 50 and better, fostering friendship, well-being, and a shared sense of purpose through social events, educational opportunities, and volunteer service. The Village is a member-driven organization and part of the national Village to Village Network of more than 300 villages supporting older adults in living vibrant, connected lives in the homes and communities they love.
Launched in 2018, Seacoast Village Project is run by its members with support from a dedicated team of three part-time employees: an Executive Director, a Volunteer Manager, and a Membership, Programs & Communications Manager. Together they help the Village evolve to meet its members' needs.
The part-time Membership, Programs & Communications Manager supports member services, programs and events, and communications, ensuring a great experience for all Villagers. In this role, you will be one of the first friendly faces members and prospective members encounter, you will help build the calendar that keeps our community connected, you will tell our story to the wider world, and you will pitch in wherever our small, nimble team needs a hand. Key Responsibilities
Membership

Schedule and host membership outreach events

Review and process new member applications and inquiries promptly

Lead prospective member presentations, orientation, and onboarding

Maintain membership records and manage renewals

Develop policies for member attraction, engagement, and retention

Manage office volunteers

Support the Member Engagement Committee
Programs

Support the Programs and Events Committee; schedule events and manage the monthly calendar

Coordinate the Friendly Call, Emergency Storm Call, and Welcome Call programs

Recruit and train Friendly Call/visit volunteers

Maintain the Village's annual calendar of programs, events, and trainings
Communications
-
Support the Programs and Events Committee; schedule events and manage the monthly calendar

Administrative

Track volunteer and program participant metrics

Partner with the Volunteer Manager to match service requests with volunteers

Support in-person events and programs

Track and record expenses accurately

Assist other team members as needed
Position Requirements

Part-time position, 20 hours per week, $25-$30 per hour

In-office position, with some flexibility for occasional remote work

Must be comfortable working in a small, lively office environment
Qualifications
-
3+ years of management experience, demonstrating the ability to manage a broad range of duties as described above

Experience using multiple platforms to accomplish work (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Little Green Light, Zoom, Mailchimp, Facebook, Instagram, Canva) and other business software

Excellent organizational and time-management skills

Demonstrated attention to detail

Basic web management and development skills

Comfortable learning new skills

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Experience working with older adults

Genuine warmth, patience, and empathy. How you show up for our Villagers matters as much as your organizational skills.

Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent experience
