DESCRIPTION:Join us in welcoming Great Bay Community College's new President\, Dr. Pelema Morrice to the Bank of America / Merrill Lynch Speaker Series on Tuesday\, October 2nd from 7:30 - 9am.  President Morrice started at Great Bay in mid-August leaving his role as Vice Provost for Enrollment Management and Strategic Development at the University of Missouri.  President Morrice will share his background\, initial impressions\, and the process he is embarking on to further enhance the impact that Great Bay Community College has on our communities.\n\n\n\nAbout Dr. Pelema Morrice\n\nDr. Morrice brings over 15 years of experience as an educator who utilizes design\, strategy\, and organizational behavior to facilitate innovative\, collaborative\, and high-achieving postsecondary environments. He is a former high school dropout whose own circuitous educational path informs his professional pursuits. Dr. Morrice is vested in the improvement of low-income students' access to\, and success in\, postsecondary education and workforce development.\n\n\n\nDr. Morrice previously served as Vice Provost for Enrollment Management and Strategic Development at the University of Missouri (MU). Prior to MU\, he served in a number of professional and executive roles at Bryn Mawr College\, the University of Nebraska Omaha\, California State University\, Stanford University\, and the University of San Diego.\n\n\n\nDr. Morrice is currently an Executive MBA student at MIT Sloan School of Management and previously earned a PhD from the University of Michigan's Center for the Study of Higher and Postsecondary Education (CSHPE)\, and both an MA and BA from San Jose State University after transferring from Cabrillo Community College in Aptos\, California.
