SUMMARY:Best Employment Practices for Millennials - Bank of New Hampshire Business Development Series
DESCRIPTION:The Bank of New Hampshire Business Development Series focuses on workforce challenges of the small business community this fall. Be sure to experience all three great sessions.\n\n\n\nThis interactive workshop is geared towards anyone with responsibility for hiring and/or managing people in their organization and will apply a combination of discussion and case studies to learn.\n\n\n\nWorking with multiple generations in the workforce does require an awareness of the distinct differences born out of the culture that each generation was raised in. \n\n\n\nMillennials\, also known as Gen Yers\, are those individuals born around 1980 to 2000. It is notable there is much debate about exactly when the generation starts and ends. What is generally not up for debate are the main distinguishing qualities\, such as a desire to "work with management\, not for management"\, a need for regular\, positive feedback\, and an undeniably strong technology connection. \n\n\n\nIn this workshop\, we'll discuss more common qualities and the matching best management practices\, including recruiting strategies. Each of the management approaches also has the dual benefit of creating a respectful\, rewarding\, and enjoyable work environment for all generations. \n\n\n\nHuman Resources ROI\, LLC\, is a Portsmouth\, NH-based consulting\, outsourcing\, and training firm that offers dedicated HR expertise and innovative training and development practices to help organizations grow and succeed in the Greater Seacoast New Hampshire\, Southern Maine\, and Northeastern Massachusetts regions. \n\n\n\nAmy Cann is the Principal Consultant and Coach with over 20 years of Human Resources experience\, five years as a current Adjunct Instructor with Southern NH University and the University of New Hampshire\, and dual Senior HR Professional certification through both the Society of HR Management (SHRM) and the HR Certification Institute (HRCI). Her education includes a MBA in Global Studies\, a Graduate Certificate in Human Resources Management\, and a dual B.A. in Human Resources Administration and Psychology. She is also completing her Social Media Marketing Graduate Certificate in November as social media is such a powerful\, growing force in both our business and personal lives.\n\n\n\nPlease contact her firm for a complimentary consultation at amy@hrroi.org\, 603.978.2958\, or by visiting www.hrroi.org.
