DESCRIPTION:Join the fun and educational activities that will reinforce the importance that a healthy ocean has in our liveWorld Ocean Day is a global celebration and collaboration for a healthier future for our ocean. Our health and our ocean's health are connected. Over half of the oxygen we breathe is produced in the ocean\, and the ocean is the heart of our planet\, circulating heat and water and regulating our climate. Together\, we can make a difference and keep our ocean healthy for future generations.  Join us in celebrating to honor our ocean and do something to protect it!\n\n\n\n10:30 am\n\nWhale\, Dolphin\, and Seal Activity Stations Open\n\n\n\nMock Seal Rescue with the NH Marine Mammal Rescue Team\n\nThe Blubber Report: try on a blubber glove\n\nHow big is a whale? Learn about the whales that live in the Gulf of Maine and compare your size with theirs with our whale measuring activity.\n\nMake a Seal Mask\n\n\n\n10:30-11:30 am\n\nFace Painting\n\nFor kids of all ages can get their face painted for $1. All proceeds support our ocean education mission.\n\n\n\n11 am-12:30 pm\n\nInside Ladder the Life-size Inflatable Whale\n\nWalk through the Blue Ocean Society's Ladder\, a 65 ft. inflatable whale! Participants learn all about how baleen whales eat and digest their food.\n\n\n\n12-1 pm\n\nSquid Dissection\n\nLearn all about the anatomy and physiology of squid during this hands-on\, guided squid dissection. Space is limited and registration is required. Cost: $5 per person.\n\n \n\nSquid Dissection Registration\n\n\n\n1-1:30 pm\n\nWrack Line Walk\n\nFind out what the last tide left behind during this naturalist-led walk along the shore of Odiorne Point State Park.\n\n\n\n1:30-2:30 pm\n\nBeach Cleanup\n\nDo your part to help make our ocean a healthier and cleaner place! You'll learn about the dangers marine debris pose to wildlife and humans.\n\n\n\n2:00 pm\n\nOur Ocean Our Future: 25 reasons to protect our ocean\n\nSSC is celebrating its 25th birthday this year. Join us to learn 25 great reasons to protect our ocean. Upcycle plastic waste and create a group art project to help keep plastics out of our ocean.s!
