Curtis is active as a freelancer in the jazz\, rock and world music scenes and performs internationally. He has appeared on more than 80 recordings including releases with Medeski Martin and Wood\, Matt Wilson\, Tom Harrell\, Slavic Soul Party and the Ghost Train Orchestra as well as releasing numerous recordings under his own name. In 2014\, Curtis appeared on the Louie CK show\, "Louie" with the klezmer band Golem.
