Doors open at 9:30AM and the program begins at 10AM and concludes at 3PM. This year Jim Craig of the USS Albacore Park will speak on "A Measureless Peril: Wartime Hysteria\, Spies\, Surrenders at Sea\, and German U-boats off Portsmouth in WWII." Gerry Ward of the MFA Boston and the Portsmouth Historical Society will speak on "Four Centuries of Portsmouth Furniture\, Richard Adams of the Wentworth-Lear Association will speak on "Notable Denizens of Portsmouth's South Cemetery\, and Karen Raynes\, independent researcher\, will introduce and share a portion of her recent documentary film\, "The Queens of Hampton Beach: The History of the Carnival Queens & Miss Hampton Beach Beauty Pageant 1915-2015". There also will be updates and presentations on current and upcoming projects at our member sites. Raffle baskets and sale tables of site-related items and publications are another feature of the symposium. Tickets reserved in advance (by March 3 at 4pm) are $15. Tickets purchased at the door are $20. Reservations are recommended. All proceeds benefit the Portsmouth Historic Sites Associates. This is always a popular program\, so make your reservations early.
