For over 30 years\, the approximately 50-piece\, all-volunteer ensemble has made a significant contribution to the cultural life of the NH/Maine Seacoast area\, and beyond\, by providing its audiences with high-quality concerts and its members with opportunities for musical growth.\n\nFounded in 1984 as a loose association of enthusiastic musicians\, the Ensemble was incorporated as a nonprofit corporation in both NH and ME in 1987. It currently rehearses at Shapleigh Middle School in Kittery\, Maine\, where its expansive music library is also maintained. Like its forerunners in the heyday of the concert band era\, the Seacoast Wind Ensemble performs a broad array of musical pieces suitable for the entire family and selected to encourage listener involvement and appreciation. In addition to traditional marches\, the Ensemble's repertoire encompasses the finest of classical and modern music\, including symphonic arrangements for concert band and innovative pieces by contemporary composers.
