DESCRIPTION:The Moffatt-Ladd House celebrates the 240th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence this year with a program and tour on Wednesday July 6\, 2016. The program begins with a presentation by Director/curator Barbara Ward\, on the public and private life of "William Whipple: Signer and Revolutionary\," one of New Hampshire's three signers of the Declaration of Independence\, and the only signer born in what would later (1820) become the state of Maine. Ward will be followed by Sue Polidura of Portsmouth who will share her research on another chapter in the city's Revolutionary history: "The Flour Ship that Never Sailed." The program will conclude with a brief tour of some of the rooms in the Moffatt-Ladd House most closely associated with William Whipple. Space is limited\, so please pre-register. The cost is $5 per person\, and the tour is free for members of NSCDA-NH or Friends of the Moffatt-Ladd House.
