Jessie Jeanne Stinnett (Founder, Co-Director) describes Strong Women as, “A playlist of some of the hottest female choreographers in the United States today that should get played on repeat!” Since its inception, Boston Dance Theater has maintained a deep commitment to amplifying the voices of strong female choreographers of color. Strong Women is an evening of short works that the company commissioned from: Rena Butler (African-American), Rosie Herrera (Cuban-American), Micaela Taylor (African-American), and Yue Yin (Chinese-American). ---- Post-performance talk-back: Audiences are invited to a brief talk-back with the dancers and Jessie Jeanne Stinnett, Boston Dance Theater Founder & Co-Director after the performance. ---- About Boston Dance Theater: Boston Dance Theater (BDT), under the co-artistic direction of Founder Jessie Jeanne Stinnett and internationally acclaimed choreographer Itzik Galili, is Boston’s first contemporary dance repertory company with international artistic leadership. Founded in 2019 as a 501(c)(3), BDT produces high-caliber performances, maintains a full-time ensemble, and engages in interdisciplinary collaborations that expand the possibilities of contemporary dance.
