36 Years of Impact: Stella Concludes Remarkable Volunteer Career at Cornerstone VNA
Cornerstone VNA proudly recognizes and celebrates the remarkable 36 years of volunteer service of Stella Marcotte, a longtime resident of Rochester, NH. Stella first became an office volunteer in 1990 when she began serving with the Rochester Visiting Nurse Association. She continued her volunteer service following the 2000 merger of Rochester VNA and Rural District VNA, which became Cornerstone VNA. After 36 extraordinary years of dedicated service, Stella has officially retired from her volunteer role, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and commitment to Cornerstone VNA’s mission.
Over the course of those 36 years, Stella became one of Cornerstone VNA’s many healthcare heroes, quietly and cheerfully working behind the scenes to support both office and field staff. Throughout her tenure, she assisted in multiple departments, contributing to a wide range of essential tasks including filing, scanning, copying, organizing, preparing patient admission booklets, and supporting special events.
Known for her efficiency and positive spirit, Stella approached every assignment with dedication and enthusiasm. She also occasionally stepped into the spotlight, appearing in photos and videos as a “patient” to help share the story of Cornerstone VNA’s mission, proving her versatility! It is estimated that Stella generously donated over 4,000 hours of her time in service to the organization. Her extraordinary commitment and steadfast support made a lasting impact on the agency, its staff, and the community it serves. In recognition of her outstanding dedication and years of service, Stella was honored in 2013 with the Spirit of NH award from Volunteer NH and again in 2023 with the Cornerstone Award from Cornerstone VNA.
Cornerstone VNA President/CEO, Jennifer Ufkin, RN MSN BC-NC shares, “Stella’s incredible legacy of service and her commitment to our mission have touched so many lives within our organization and throughout the community. Her kindness, generosity, and dedication will continue to inspire volunteers for generations to come. We are deeply grateful for all she has given to Cornerstone VNA.”
