Greater Seacoast Health Appoints Chief Development, Marketing & Communications Officer
Greater Seacoast Health is pleased to announce the appointment of Susanna Fier as chief development, marketing & communications officer. Fier will lead donor relations, fundraising, and development initiatives; create and implement a multi-year development strategy; mentor and guide the development team; and partner with the broader community to foster a culture of meaningful engagement and stewardship in support of Greater Seacoast’s mission. She will also oversee the organization’s marketing and communications efforts, leading the department’s strategic direction and day-to-day activities.
Fier has more than 20 years of leadership experience in health care, philanthropy, public affairs, marketing, and communications. She previously served as vice president of the Mary & John Elliot Charitable Foundation and vice president of Public Affairs and Marketing at Elliot Health System in Manchester. During her tenure, she advanced fundraising, development, marketing, and communications strategies that positively impacted patients, families, and the greater Manchester community. More recently, Fier launched her own company, Susanna Fier Consulting, LLC, where she continues to utilize her expertise to serve clients in both the nonprofit and for-profit sectors.
Fier is a proven and respected leader with a strong track record of building lasting relationships, developing strategic partnerships, and engaging donors in support of the organizations she serves. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Vermont and a Juris Doctor degree from Franklin Pierce Law Center, now UNH Franklin Pierce School of Law.
“I believe in the mission of Greater Seacoast Health, and I see the importance of the work being done here to reach everyone, regardless of their insurance status or ability to pay,” said Fier. “Having the opportunity to inspire others to support this organization feels natural and enables me to use my knowledge and experience to advance this great organization. I am grateful for this opportunity, and I look forward to the work we will do together.”
“I am extremely pleased to have Susanna as a member of my leadership team,” said Jocelyn Caple, CEO of Greater Seacoast Health. “She has a deep understanding of both philanthropy and communications, making her the perfect person to help ensure our future sustainability and support our strategic growth.”
