Portsmouth Rotary Club’s Christmas tree and ornament sale returns to spread holiday cheer and support local community
PORTSMOUTH— The Portsmouth Rotary Club is pleased to announce the return of its highly anticipated Annual Christmas Tree Sale, a cherished Seacoast tradition that has brought holiday warmth, community connection, and charitable support to the region for decades. Beginning the day before Thanksgiving, the Planet Fitness parking lot at 775 Lafayette Road has once again been transformed into a festive destination filled with the scent of vfresh-cut Christmas trees and the spirit of giving.
This year’s sale features a wide selection of premium-quality trees in various sizes, sourced from trusted growers to ensure long-lasting freshness throughout the holiday season. The lot will operate Monday–Thursday from 12–6 p.m. and Friday–Sunday from 10 a.m.–7 p.m., remaining open until all trees are sold. Early arrival is encouraged, as this event traditionally draws strong community turnout.
The Christmas Tree Sale is entirely volunteer-driven, with Rotary members dedicating their time and energy to support one of the club’s most significant annual fundraising efforts. Every dollar of profit is reinvested directly into the Portsmouth community, funding a wide range of service projects, scholarships, youth leadership programs, humanitarian initiatives, and support for local nonprofits.
“Our Christmas Tree Sale is one of the most joyful and meaningful traditions we have,” said John St. Pierre, president-elect of the Portsmouth Rotary Club. “It brings our members together, brings our community together, and helps us make a real difference for local organizations throughout the year. Purchasing a tree is more than just a holiday ritual—it’s an act of giving that strengthens the fabric of the Seacoast.”
Over the years, the event has become a hallmark of the holiday season in Portsmouth, offering families not only a place to choose their tree, but also an opportunity to engage with the Rotary Club’s mission of “Service Above Self.” The club encourages residents, businesses, and visitors alike to stop by, enjoy the festive atmosphere, and support charitable programs that uplift the community.
